Writing Workshop

Writers workshop is a time for teachers to back off an allow students to let their creativity flow. We put them on a task and then allow their imaginations to take over. I think this can be hard as a teacher, but it is very good for our students to be able to write what they want.

Evidence #1
In my class, we have a writers workshop during the day. The children can write or draw whatever they want on the big idea we are on. For example, right now we are doing opinion pieces and one little boy wanted to write about why he likes rainbows and that in his opinion they are the best.
Evidence #2
Lesson Plan

I taught this lesson to my class about writing stories. We read part of the story together and then they each made up their own ending. I really enjoyed seeing how the kids mixed their favorite things with the book we were reading.
