Integration is teaching two subjects as a part of one lesson. Integration can be used in many lessons. I think this is useful for all classrooms. It is really helpful for meeting more than one standard at a time. It is beneficial for the children because they can learn things without knowing it.
Evidence #1
Literature can be pulled into many lessons. This is an example of a science lesson I taught based on a book. The children learned about the life cycle, but they also learned from a book.
Lesson Plan
Evidence #2 (Technology)
It is fairly simple to include integration of a book into another subject. I really like how in this lesson they put math and science together which are two subjects that feel hard to integrate into anything, together into the same lesson. This lesson could be easily done on the smart board, so everyone could work with the living chart.
